Challenge background
Beyond the familiar hospitals within our local communities, we often face challenges when seeking medical facilities in unfamiliar parts of Ghana. The cruciality of this issue is amplified in emergency situations, where lack of immediate information could pose serious life-threatening risks. Our reliance on local knowledge to find such facilities is not always a viable or efficient solution. Consequently, the development of a web application that enables users to easily locate hospitals, regardless of their geographical familiarity, becomes an invaluable tool. It's this pressing need that fuels the motivation for this project.
The problem
Navigating life-threatening health emergencies in unfamiliar communities can be daunting due to the difficulty in accessing local hospital information. Overcoming this challenge would enable anyone visiting a new community to effortlessly access details of nearby hospitals, regardless of their location.
Goal of the project
- Create a data visualization for hospitals in Ghana
- Create a Dash app for those data visualizations
- Make these web apps accessible to anyone
