Investigating Food Supply to Demand, Adequacy of Supply and Pricing to Ensure Food Security

Challenge Background

The background to this problem is rooted in the lack of, or, minimal development accompanying the population surge in the city of Lokoja. Several factors ranging from corruption to negligence and incompetence contribute to this unpleasant outcome in different weights, but one cannot rule out the role that the lack of data driven decision making has had to play; much to the frustration of willing elements of development and genuine government intervention.

The Problem

The problem we are looking to solve is the ever growing threat to the city's food security especially around the aspects of availability and affordability.

Goal of the Project

The project goals are as follows:

• Gather food demand, supply data and demographic data.
• Analyze to extract insights and trends.
• Build a report that could be presented to the relevant stake holders.
