Analyzing Crime Rates in Kansas, USA Using Machine Learning

This Omdena Local Chapter Challenge runs for 5 weeks and is a unique experience to try and grow your skills in a collaborative and safe environment with a diverse mix of people from all over the world. 

You will work on solving a local problem, initiated by Kansas, USA Chapter.

The problem

The project will use publicly available data from various sources such as the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and others sources to analyze crime trends in the state. The analysis will include factors such as location, time, and type of crime to identify hotspots and patterns of criminal activity. 

The project will also examine the effectiveness of existing laws and enforcement strategies in tackling crime in the state. The insights gained from this analysis will be used to develop recommendations to improve crime prevention and law enforcement efforts in Kansas. Ultimately, the goal of the project is to help reduce crime rates in the state and improve the safety and well-being of its residents.

• Data collection on crime rate for the state of Kansas(may require web scraping). 
• Data pre-processing.
• Exploratory data analysis. 
• Streamlit – web app development to present the insights.
