Mapping Multi-Hazard Risk Areas and Identifying Optimal Response Routes

This Omdena Local Chapter Challenge runs for 6 weeks and is a unique experience to try and grow your skills in a collaborative and safe environment with a diverse mix of people from all over the world. 

You will work on solving a local problem, initiated by Gurugram, India Chapter.

The problem

Gurugram is an industrial city with a lot of factories and industries, which puts it at a higher risk for events like fires and crime.

Gurugram also has trouble with waterlogging during heavy rain, which causes flooding and disrupts daily life. We can come up with ideas like better drainage and using technology to monitor the situation and keep people informed about what’s happening.

We can develop effective strategies to mitigate these problems, including the suggestion for improved drainage infrastructure and real-time monitoring systems, which also serve community awareness initiatives.

The goals

The project goals are:

• Research study on the history of these types of events in Gurugram.
• Identify and map high-risk areas.
• Develop targeted response strategies.
• Further goals can be defined later on.
