The problem

Governments and regulatory bodies are implementing stricter regulations and reporting requirements related to sustainability and product impact. Brands and retailers need to comply with these regulations and demonstrate their adherence to sustainability standards. The project can help in gathering and analyzing the necessary data to meet these requirements.

This project aims to address this problem by leveraging data from various sources to identify and communicate proof points related to the impact and sustainability of products and brands. These proof points can include environmental factors such as carbon emissions, water usage, and waste generation, as well as social aspects like fair labor practices and community engagement.

The project goals

The main project goal is to build automation to extract information and add to the knowledge graph from different data sources.

Project Scope:

Build initial knowledge graph and supporting data structures (e.g. landing and staging data layers).
- Ingestion of data sources into the initial version of the knowledge graph.
Update the knowledge graph and supporting data structures automatically with new data using a robust, automated pipeline.
- Data Collection using Crawlers and Scrapers.
- Data Pre-processing format and structure of the existing knowledge graph.
- Entity Extraction: Entity Recognition and Entity Disambiguation.
- Analysis of product images.
- Entity Linking: Link new entities and relationships to existing nodes in the knowledge graph.
- Updating the Graph: Incorporate the new entities and relationships into the knowledge graph (ML).
- Ensure the Graph maintains consistency and coherence.
