LogiShield Sentinel: AI for Supply Chain Disruption Prediction

The problem
In today’s global economy, supply chains operate in a constant state of uncertainty. Disruptions caused by weather events, port congestion, labor strikes, or geopolitical actions can cascade rapidly across regions and industries.
The problem is not the lack of information; it is the lack of structured, actionable intelligence.
Critical signals exist, but they are buried in unstructured sources such as:
- Port authority announcements
- Maritime alerts
- Trade publications
- Sanctions lists
- Weather reports
These signals are fragmented, inconsistent, and difficult to process at scale.
As a result:
- Companies react too late to disruptions
- Risk detection remains manual and inefficient
- Predictive systems lack reliable, structured data
The project goals
This project proposes building LogiShield Sentinel, a predictive risk intelligence platform designed to transform unstructured global signals into structured, actionable data for early disruption detection.
The solution focuses on creating the data foundation first, enabling reliable downstream prediction and monitoring.
Key components include:
- Scraping large-scale unstructured data from global logistics sources
- Designing a domain-specific taxonomy for supply chain disruptions
- Structuring events by severity, duration, routes, and affected commodities
- Developing an NLP-based detection engine for automated classification
- Building a risk-scoring system to assess disruption impact
- Delivering an Early-Warning MVP dashboard for real-time visibility
As part of this challenge, the system must demonstrate the ability to:
- Convert raw, unstructured text into a structured disruption dataset
- Classify events with high accuracy using NLP models
- Capture key attributes (location, severity, duration, impacted nodes)
- Identify meaningful patterns across global disruption signals
- Generate early warnings before disruptions escalate
- Provide a clear, usable interface for monitoring risks
- Highlight uncertainty, noise, and limitations in detection
Impact of the Problem
LogiShield Sentinel can directly change how organizations anticipate and respond to supply chain disruptions in the real world.
